Counselor and therapist for children and young adults on the autism spectrum that have severe behavioral problems. Needless to say, it can be stressful as hell and the garden is my meditative time

You have a stressful job, my mom did that and I saw how hard she worked. Hat off to you.

So true. My friend got almost to the top of the ladder loading shingles and stepped wrong on the rung and ended up with two surgeries and 10 pins in his :leg:. :face_with_head_bandage:

My old boss filled his rigger boots with hot bitumen a few years back. Had to remove the heal of his foot. Could smell his flesh cooking. Not a barbecue I’d like to ever attend again.

I saw so many people nail them selves with nail guns over the years I lost count. Lol
No job anymore, retired

Yeah nail guns can be dangerous in the wrong hands. We use passload guns to nail the battens down sometimes. You can pull the safety pressure trigger in with a finger and fire them. Often fired them at seagulls if they are in attack mode. Not hit one yet but it scares them off.
I remember nailing the joiners tool bag down to the floor once for a laugh. He wasn’t impressed

The pop they make is enough to scare them off. I’d probably feel guilty af if I hit one.

I did welding and metal fabrication for about 10 years, the company went under and so I jumped onto the drilling rigs. During the last slowdown I went back to my roots and became a Boilermaker, just the fitting and rigging now, not really interested in welding as a job anymore.

I helped my buddy out a few times with his new roofing company in my early 20’s. I was on a edge of a tall town house. my lighter fell out of my top shirt pocket, my instinct had me reached out for my lighter as it was falling until I felt my weight completely shift so I pulled back fast, almost died over I think it was a red lighter.

I only weld on my own projects now. At one time I worked as a welder at a mine support company.
