Cook and I am also an oyster shucker I work for a local shellfish company. We are all trained there how to properly shuck an oyster and we also serve Dungeness crab and other stuff such as clams and mussels but the stars of the show are definitely the Oysters and Crab. Also we carry Geoduck it’s funny you can tell when they have never had Geoduck because they pronounce it wrong. That’s what I do cook food for the people :sunglasses::call_me_hand:

I have only had fresh oysters one time, smoked on the half shell, it was in Florida, great stuff. Sucks that I live in a landlocked part of the country.

If you ever make it to the northwest you will be in for a treat we have that virginica species here it only grows in one area and the flavor is amazing in Washington state we have this tiny little oyster called the Olympia it is the only real native oyster to this state. All the oysters you see with crazy names like fat bastard, Kushi, etc…. They are all from the Pacifica oyster which is originally a Japanese species also the Kumamoto is a separate species and is another Japanese variety so next time you walk in to an oyster bar you have a little bit of background on those bivalves :sunglasses::oyster::fire:

My current job is providing managed print services and IT support to a healthcare organization. The company I work for holds the contract for them. I have an office in one hospital and cover 3 hospitals, 13 off site buildings and one children’s treatment center. I moved over to this job as there are no weekends or on call work. My previous job saw me on call as much as every other week for over 13 years doing second level IT support for POS systems, banking systems and large bank data centers. With my last week there being 96.5 hours long I was pretty happy to move on to something new. When I started here it was just managed print services but managed to get them to sign a contract to do IT support as well so it keeps me pretty busy.

I’m an old tired carpenter. All arthritic from head to toe. I only work a few hours a week for others now, saving my energy to do for myself.

I work for a .com startup that provides security monitoring services. My role is a technical support role and mostly revolves around low level networking support… support with pointing/aiming security cameras as well as building/imaging/and deploying servers that are installed in our locations. Pay is decent, health benefits are 100% covered by company… time off is generous… before this I was working in a paper mill for Georgia Pacific that would work everyone to death pretty much no weekends off… Absolutely glad I left.

I own a company that repairs people’s houses after they flood out or catch on fire for insurance companies. Before that I sold cars for Chevy and directly before that I was working at McDonalds.

One of my best friends started a similar business by me (CANADA) about 15-16 years back, was very tough for a few years but once he got a customer base and built a good crew it’s literally skyrocketed the last 7-8 years, SKYROCKETED! I’m sure the state of our world is helping but man did he ever pick the right business to start. He is now making millions and millions. Here’s hoping you have a similar story my friend :pray:t2: @Indicana_Jones

I was a stay at home dad for 18 years. My youngest graduated HS early, Jan. 2020. Then the pandemic. Since then I’m a money sink to my family with no work experience and a battered old body and two kids in college.

Well, my current job is a Software Developer at a mid-sized tech company. I spend most of my day coding, debugging, and collaborating with my team to build and improve our software products. It’s a pretty challenging job, but it’s also very rewarding, especially when I get to see the direct impact of my work on our users.

I love the problem-solving aspect of my job. There’s always something new to learn and a new challenge to tackle. The tech industry is always evolving, so I’m constantly learning new programming languages and keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies.

Finding a high-paying job in the tech industry in the US wasn’t easy, especially as a recent grad. I had to navigate through a lot of job listings and applications, and it was a bit overwhelming.
But in the end, after you get your CV done right, and find out more about employment (to begin with, you can read this), it becomes easier to filter job announcements and increase the chances of companies answering you.
