Where can i learn more new techniques/details

I check this site a lot but rarely see new information as its mostly grow journals

Im on rollitup thcfarmer growersnetwork too. I use chatgpt extensively.

Are there any other good resources I’m missing? Where do you go to find the bleeding edge of cannabis cultivation?

Thanks

For better or worse, a ton of great information is buried in the grow journals. It’s definitely a very different setup/structure than other forums, but I have gotten used to it.

You can opt for searching for specific topics, or just browsing around til you find people who have a growing (or writing) style you want to dig into and then see what you find. I’ve gleaned tons of great tips from journals of people who grow in ways not remotely similar to my own. I’ve also probably missed a ton of info that would be useful to me just because I didn’t like the vibe or writing style of a thread (and I’m sure many people have noped out of my wordy-ass dense posts). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯such is the world of forums.

I’ve learned quite a bit from the FAQ’s on here, there’s an account set up that has a bunch of different topics on techniques and ways to do things:

I’m not sure it’s “cutting edge”, but you might find some ideas you haven’t thought of.

The only advancements in cannabis cultivation these days happen in law firms. Ha!

Old is new again imo, if you want ground breaking turn to ancestral techniques.

Or what i often do is to dig through 60s 70s 80s patent applications for crackpot inventors… they often have a better vision than the newspeak generation

This is where I find most of the information to be honest.

I go detailed oriented with my journals so folks can learn from my successes and mistakes and I learn the same way.

If you wanted to learn something specific, try the search function or post a thread starting that discussion!

The density of information here is mind blowing. And I have been growing for 16 years.

  1. Figure out what you want to do
  2. Find someone who is doing it
  3. Emulate them.

Simple as that.

I came to say I am a rookie compared to a lot of folks I follow on here, but not all. If you want bleeding edge no one has ever done it before what you need to do is find the brand new never grew before growers and follow their threads. They’re going to show you shit you never thought of (if their not to trepidatious). And most of them will show you what to do and not to do because people trying stuff usually aren’t afraid to show the results. By all means come watch me turn female plants male every flower run. It’s a great way to keep you in stock with seeds most will consider junk (I consider them practice fodder) :joy:.

But seriously find some folks and hang out in there threads. @Mithridate  has an awesome thread with science and also @Rhizome 's torture gardens are both threads where stuff gets tried and are very informative.

Also if you want some hard numbers and data driven information check out @Coffin_Dodger he never fails to pick a banger song to listen to while reading through some great and heavy data.

Sorry for the tags y’all if it bothers let me know I’ll remove and stop tagging you.

There are so many great growers with great information and techniques. Stick around and find out.

I get what you are saying, grow logs aren’t the same as tutorials…

A great site is GrowWeedEasy.com.
Well written tutorials with lots of hyper links.

Pack a lunch, it’s a very deep rabbit hole… :+1::wink:

Cheers

If your seeking a site where lots of commercial folks hang out at and share their tips and tricks, for me, that is BeanBasement.

However you do not really just roll in there, and get access to all of the site. Once l you post up your grow show, from clone to bud, or seed to bud, and you get approved, then all the threads are opened up to you.

For me as simple stash grower, I found it a goldmine, of growing knowledge.
Cap, built a fine site, it is a bit more robust at times, and I’d suggest you leave your feelings at the breakfast table, when over there.

As a seeker of knowledge, I love their site.
I love OG 2.0 for it’s more easy going side to it.

Just my $.02

Cocoforcanna is a really well put together site on growing in coco coir, it’s “newer” than growing in dirt.

If you aren’t the bleeding edge yourself you are still merely following along.

Enjoy

I’d pick up actual books. They can be boring but most of the information online came from some text to begin with. I have a 1968 ‘book of the garden’ and while there have been some important changes since then, more than 90% of the book is still true and I sometimes find the best advice in there. Browsing keywords, spending the time to read a few hundred posts here or there has had a great impact on me. Often times these cats here discuss something, debate, find some science, try it out and discuss all within, like, 300 posts sometimes. And as always, a closed mouth doesn’t get fed. Ask ask ask :metal:t3:

Yeah man I started with basic Jorge Cervantes books years ago and find it easier to learn with pages text and photos instead of looking at a screen. There is tons of information these days almost too much for new growers
