White Lotus grow log (sorta)

OK, last year and early this year in my dealings with other growers around Oklahoma, I traded a few clones here and there of various strains…
Turns out one that really piqued my interest is supposedly a ‘rare & hard to find’ strain called ‘White Lotus’ from Bodhi Seeds. The big rounds nugs and bushy growth pattern got my attention, and even though I hadn’t heard much about the strain (at that time) I figured ‘what the hell, might as well’ and traded for 3 clones. At first the babies struggled, but with a bit of TLC they began to grow, and grow… (I’ll post a few pics later) I just put them in the vegging room and let all 3 become moms and now at about 7 months old with 11 & 13 finger leaves, they are standing proud around 4’, and I’ve started taking cuttings to grow out before going into bud cycle.
If anyone here has grown White Lotus, feel free to drop in and tell me what you’ve found as far as anything I should watch out for. I’m not asking for advice here lol just tips on anything untoward that anyone has noticed, to give me a heads up, so to speak. So far they respond well to my normal/usual treatment and I don’t foresee any problems. I’ve grown a lot of ‘difficult’ strains over the years and these don’t seem anywhere near as needy as some have been.
Pics will come soon and I’ll try to remember to take more of the growing babies as they make their way through veg into budding, and on though the entire process to finished/cured bud, including the final labs.
Right now I’m still recovering from my final cataract op (see better than I have in 30 yrs!) so my wife and oldest son have been the ones doing all the work in the barn, I go out there only rarely and have to wear dark sunglasses, but will get pics up. )

perhaps @nube is familiar with this variety. He seems to know a lot about @bodhi gear.

Haven’t grown it, but it looks like that was grown out by quite a few people 5-6 years ago. @Strayfox posted some pics at BreedBay.

If you search for “White Lotus” with the quotes at Breedbay.org you’ll find about 8pgs of results. Most of those are just mentions of shit like people wanting to run it and In House Genetics using it as a breeder, but there are also growlogs, pics and reviews of it. You just gotta do the research and wade through the results.

Here’s one link to get you started:

Thnx for the reply Nube and ReikoX. I’ve found a good bit already and those links will give me some insight on any quirks, I hope. THC is pretty varied running from 17-27 with 20-22 seeming to be the avg.
Really want to do these girls justice, ya know? I feel like it’ll be a fairly easy run, if the way things have gone so far are any indication. One thing I do know is they’re keepers, I’ll be adding them to my stable of girls. Sort of a no brainer there lol heavy yielder, heavy hitter, hell yeah!

Gonna keep an eye on this one.

welcome aboard, ubcchemo… now I’m taking clones from these 3 ‘new mothers’. I’ll be posting pics of the clones as they grow (also the mothers) as well as the ‘quality control’ tests performed by yours truly. lol

here’s pics of the 3 White Lotus clones I traded for at the first part of the year. They were ‘fimmed’ a bit but not hard. They weren’t neglected, but they weren’t babied either. I have a lot to do on my little ‘farm-inna-barn’ and just put them in, treated them like any of the others and waited… now I’m fixing to be taking clones in the next week to 7 to 10 days, and we’ll see from there. One thing for sure, this next week is going to be a busy one for us (my wife, oldest son and myself) this is a family ‘mom & pop’ operation with everything being done by us only. We’re in the middle of harvesting a batch of Blue Cookies 9-10 days late due to my cataract op, as well as another harvest right behind that (due this Wednesday) but the clones will be taken within the next week hopefully lol

wtf?! lol I rotated the pics before I posted and they still on the side…sorry folks i"m ‘tech-challenged’ I reckon lol,

This is going to be a long thread folks… figure on a week before I take the clones. then a couple weeks till they root good and get put into the soil/pots,then probably veg for at least 2-3 months, 10 weeks in bud cycle, counting the 2 weeks to show, the drying/curing process and lab test… figure on around 6 months. So plenty of time for any interested to sit in or comment on as we go through this.

I have seen the gal in flower is why I did the clone trade. Also any pics I can find all look just as dank and frosty as the gal I saw. Rolled in powdered sugar! Even frosty fan leaves…
The White (aka triangle) by Krome x Snow Lotus is what I’ve found. But, the lineage that’s in White Lotus has a lot of good strains, including a couple Thai strains (Purple and Chocolate Thai), Afgooey(Afghani x Maui), Blockhead, Sweet-tooth (sweet pink grapefruit x Blueberry), Hog and also a couple unknown strains.

Hello mate. I am currently trying to make F2s of a White Lotus x Jaques (worked Jack Herer line from Chimera). I’m assuming that the Jaques was worked to stay relatively short, height wise as none of them finished tall. There were fairly uniform with most difference in taste and intensity of high. I had 6 phenos. All very sweet fruit flavours. Will quickly list.
White Lotus/Jaques pheno 1 had a searing high that some low tolerance friends found overbearing. Not for me personally but I noted that this one can make people feel edgy.
Pheno 2 tasted like limes in a vape, less prevalent in a rolled joint although decided to keep for friends. The high was even and long lasting. You can vape in the morning and not need or think about another till early afternoon.
Pheno 3 was a mix of all but harsher to smoke and was not kept.
Pheno 4 had the sweet taste but had some kind of baby shit from breast milk smell. A friend also noticed and commented on that without me chiming in suggestively.
Pheno 5, like the 3 was a mix of all 3 but not kept.
Pheno 6, had a sweet pineapple taste, high as good as any other.
All plants were super frosty and the highs were as strong as another keeper mom I have which is Headbanger.
I grew them alongside Bodhi’s Lavender Jack which is flavoursome, heavy on the Lavender but not a searing high.
If I manage to successfully F2 these, I’ll trade or offer up to the site. I’m trying to make those outdoors though and not sure I’ll succeed this year but have kept phenos 1,2,4 and 6. Kept just the one male which had strongest stem rub smell and looked most vigorous. The male does start to flower in veg interestingly, so I think the variety is a little sensitive and while a novice would get a good crop, maintaining keepers is a little trickier.
Buds on all were not stonking donkey dicks. Like a medium yield but delicious.

Thnx for the input Mestizo, interesting info but not really relevant to this particular log since that’s a cross you’re speaking on and not White Lotus specifically. But hey, pull up a chair and tell about the White Lotus itself that you crossed with Jaques… or did you get clones/seeds of the cross already done? Good luck with the F2 seed run.
The grower I traded clones with had only the one White Lotus, taking about 20 clones (18 survived and i got 3) the put her into bud cycle. I saw her at about 2 weeks before harvest.
I won’t be posting on this every day, but I will check in at least weekly to update.

Of course it is relevant. You can’t buy White Lotus F1 seeds from Bodhi any more as they’re not available. You’re very lucky you got clones. If one of the parent plants in an out cross is the one you’re talking about - it’s relevant as it has 50% of the genetics of the parent plant and although you’re growing that parent in the cross, it’s going to display traits that are in your particular White Lotus genetics. What say you like your White Lotus but you feel you can improve it by out crossing?. What then, would your White Lotus bring to the table if crossed with something else and what would that something else be to suit your personal taste. You catch my drift?
How many times have you looked for a variety that was no longer available but was available in the form of an out cross? How many times have you read people trying to get back to the original by back crossing?
Also, the questions you asked me are in the comment I left so I’m not repeating them.

whoa!.. excuse me there bud. I’m not trying to be a jerk or buttmuncher, but it seems you’re looking for an argument or something lol
The plain fact of the matter is this, the strain you’re growing is NOT White Lotus, but only a cross, and that’s all I’m interested in. Sorry.
You’re more than welcome to start you own grow log on the strain you speak of, thanks
