White Pistils Keep Popping

What do you do with your Sativa strains that just keep producing white pistils??

I have a haze plant and even when the plant seems late in flower, 80% pistils are mature and receded but keeps throwing out white pistils

Do you harvest or let if keep going ?

Nice plant! What haze are you running?

For me, I just kind of keep tabs on the “core” bud. Some sativas just seem to foxtail on forever. So when I see my sativas doing that, I basically just put on blinders to those pistils and look at everything else as if they weren’t there.

But pure sativas seem to have a pretty wide window for when they can be cut. It may improve if you wait, but the best way to figure that out is to keep growing that strain more than once. Because the trichs don’t always go amber or even fully cloudy in some strains, it’s not quite so easy as indicas or hybrids. If you really want to maximize it to 100% of its potential, you just gotta start experimenting with it in your next grows.

A lot of sativas will keep throwing out fresh pistils, even well into late flowering.
When this happens, look beyond the recessed pistils… look for the other ripeness factors, like calyx swell and trichome color.

I had a Haze/Skunk that did that, and I just chopped off a branch per week starting from week 12, and kept notes. Can’t remember which was my favorite, but they were all good, and I took advantage of that info when I ran the clones.

Sativa’s can be a bitch like that , sometimes a little less nitrogen or non at all towards the end will solve that problem.some strains are just super prone to it. I have been able to calm it down threw nutrient adjustments but it takes a few grows to really get a strain dialed in.
