White powdery mildew, what do I do?

I sprayed mine during lights on it was under 1000watt hps. I didn’t notice any damage to the plants, in fact they seemed to thrive after the mildew was dead.

Next round of IPM is going to be this then. Would mixing it with safer soap help or hurt? Sorry for all the questions

They say not to use it after an oil based application. I wouldn’t use it in conjunction with anything for risk of frying the plant. I couldn’t tell you if it would help or hurt but I’d go with hurt. lol at least then you’re safe.

An update on my pm battle. After fogging my basement with microban and adding MERV 13 filter fabric to my intakes I’ve yet to see a speck of pm in about 3 months. So far so good!

I fog my flowering room with microban in between rounds and will likely do the whole basement again every few months or so.

What makes you think it could come back?

Congrats!!! I know how long you’ve been dealing with it. I’m glad you finally knocked it out for good.

And @Seamonkey84, since CannaControl is oil based, do be careful in conjunction with the sulfur. I also was using that before getting on the sulfur, and the plants with more oily CC residue definitely got leaf damage.

I used bonide which is 90% micronized sulfur and a wetting agent. I’m not sure how well the pure sulfur will mix but the bonide mixed easily.

I’m feeling really good about having this infection wiped out now, but like beacher it will probably be months of cautious optimism.

I haven’t kept up with this thread too much but I just wanted to send a quick update on my previous post that I am replying to here about using the UVC Germicidal lamp.

So I used that UV Light before my current run and the plants are now in week 4 of flowering with no signs of PM so far. Previously the PM issue sprang up in week 2 & 3. What’s even more noteworthy and interesting is that the smell of the plants is MUCH more noticeable again. This is just an observation that I’ve had and felt like sharing with the community. Previously, before having PM issues, I did 4 runs in my tent and with all 4 of the grows I could smell the aroma of the plants quite well. When the PM came into effect the aroma of the plants was completely muted. I did 3 runs after that and the PM came back each time with noticeable muting on the aromas of the plants as they matured. I could be getting ahead of myself here but since using that UV light I am noticing a stronger aroma as the plants grow. I’m taking this as a really welcome change and a good sign! I’ll update as the plants get a bit later into flowering bc that will be the real test. I bought some sulfur power but haven’t used it yet bc I didn’t want to mess with the experiment. If the plants make it through flowering with zero PM issues then I will know for sure that this UV light is a legit method.

Anyway, just wanted to share. I honestly thought there was something wrong with my sense of smell but clearly it was just the PM. It’s a real bastard.

PM PTSD. Shits real. I saw some white stuff on the plants at my dads and my heart sank. Upon closer examination it was dried nutrient salts from my dad getting too sloppy whole watering

Same here, I’m still on high alert. I saw what looked like PM on a clone off a “cured” Super Lemon Haze, but its just a very hairy plant with a few hairs sticking up.

After a while, you’ll be like me… you’ll know how to kill it off and you’ll come on the forums
“hey you can kill that shit easy with some sulfur” followed by people telling you that you’re full of shit

hey that’s a really good story! I think that might explain some problems the poisoner is having. Even though he has that crazy IPM his weed is odorless, flavorless trash.

edit: Data harvesting

OK Here’s another good story. At the farm there is a huge ass green house with lots of plants. My mom, she loves the flowers right? The huge ass geranium is in hydro there now in organics lol… ok. If you come back from the store with a plant… expect mildew. She does it every year, even though it’s against the rulez!

I had a little rash on the inside of my thigh and a sulphur spray cured it right up!

The fungus probably doesn’t like ammonia and isopropyl alcohol and…blue.

This is the petunia after I sulfurized it with 92% micronized sulfur I mixed with water. Do you see any signs of fungus?? 'Cuz I can’t see it.

The sulfur I have is described as

  • High Quality, 99.5+% Pure Finely Ground Sulfur Powder, 60~80% Catches by #200 Mesh (~74 micron), the rest is an even finer powder

That shit will lay waste to it, just plop a tablespoon in a liter of water and let the slaughter begin  I shook mine up real well, and didn’t see any clumps… it was like a stinky milky liquid. Got some on my thumb - yuck! micronized is a fancy word for ground up.

Hey I forgot last time, but when I see another mildew colony I’ll do a time lapse microscope video of it melting in contact with sulfur water. It’s really cool to see at 1000x resolution.

Here’s the update on the petunia I sprayed once with sulfur. The heartbreak of wiping out the parasite in one go… oh the sorrow. Now it’s dead… how can I study it? You will notice this is New growth that has no sulfur crystals on it. So… Are people now willing to agree this works?
