That looks like a very well grown BDSC Sharron :face_with_monocle: ? Judging by the closeness of the pics, it looks to have the wider leaf structure… Cheers @splinter7

unfortunately, it’s CSI’s bubba s1. i am asking OP about smells…just in case.

I mean it’s hard to judge off a pic but that looks identical to the bud pics you posted

it’s way too close, for sure. lol. if it is bubba, one of the guys who smokes a lot of my bud will tell me. it’s his favorite strain, and he can notice it even in crosses.

It does look like the leafs on the bubba are a little darker but structure wise it’s pretty close

looking at bubba pics on OG, the flowers cone/stack more on some buds.
the sharon never stacks it seems. maybe with less light it would. it just golfballs to marbles all the way down.

some bubba bud pics look like spears. and, ya, bubba seems to have a bunch of purpling in the leaves which i don’t find so far on the sharon. I’ll have to run it in the winter to see if it purples in the cold, but i haven’t seen anyone show up with purple sharon or any widow for that matter.

Edit: dude got back to me who is growing the bubba. funnily, he said it smelled like peach. hmmm.

I have bubba kush , the original one not a s1 or cross , it grows chunky not spear shaped , I’ve seen the more spear shaped ones and some are killer on there own but bubba kush looks very similar to that pic , smells of coffee chocolate and dank. Non of the pics I’ve seen here of Sharon look like bubba kush to me at all.

I’m smoking some barely-dried-enough sample buds right now… Smells shift from that tropical fruit perfume, to a weird bad breath meets epoxy, letter/envelope glue type thing… Still smokes soft and semi fruity… Widows do do this, where they, (the buds), have that sweet acid thing when fresh, and turn to a little bit nastier when cut and dry… A little bitter too… not at all coffee or chocolate though… It’s too early to come to any definitive conclusions, but early smoke feels very late 90s-early 2000s type of bud… stoney as fuck, but not really tired or anything… If I was back then, when I was whatever age I was, in whatever year it was, yeah, it would have been impressive… good enough to keep around at least… Definitely has that '00-'06 street bud feel… but needs more exploration… And I’m thinking, maybe try giving her more light during flower guys… and slowly turn it down as the buds start stacking… She’s too fast-finishing for short light cycles… She’ll stall out before she really builds up… or at least, that’s what I’m thinking…

Edit: Let me clarify the reason I mentioned late 90s, early 2000s bud- because Sensi was basically the premium brand to go with for dealers back then. Whether it was warranted or not, that was THE brand to use if you were selling the ā€œbestā€. And Widow and NL were always considered the strongest two for average joe public, meaning that’s what a lot of people sold, and bought, respectively. So, in the effect being similar to what a lot of dealer weed was back then, it gives to credence, that this could be a Sensi find. Just sayin.

Just took mine down today at f70.
smell has a slight sweet in the background, but fuel/skunky/coffee in the foreground. It has this sharp pungent notes that builds when i take a bigger whiff. The bud purpled up in the light. The most unique aspect is when I pluck the leaves from the bud, it removes a chunk of nug. i had to stop as some point and just left the leaves and trimmed them back to the bud level.

She was run in my production tent as normal with mostly maxibloom, espom salts and kool blooms. So, like early 2k hydro.

The buds are a little too leafy for my preference. And, yield isn’t there either.

@SFO Somewhere in the IC thread, one of the guys that got the cut from Lonestar or who knew Lonestar, said it was possibly a cross of widow into something else…which is what made is special. so, it might not be pure widow, even if we have the real deal.

It might not be pure Widow, but it’s definitely Widowy. Who knows what Sensi sold as ww anyway, it could have been more like a rhino or something… You’re getting coffee, huh? Mine’s not at all coffee. I’m also not so sure on the yields… I think it’s all the light… It needs more than average cause she’s almost auto-like in how easily she turns… I could be wrong, but I don’t know… I had one picture I included in a recent post that had the button buds some of you guys are getting, just to show it’s the same thing, I just put her out in the middle of summer and she never really reveged, she just keeps budding… which is where I’m getting the light theory from… it’s like she still flowers even at 16 hrs… and finishes very quickly… and so needs a little more encouragement to keep chugging along… I’m going to test it more…

I thought it was coffee upon approaching the plant, but up close it’s more like musky or savory with a sweetness in the back. idk. after it dries, it could be pretty different. when the smell concentrates, like when squeezing a bud, it’s pungent/acrid.

I ran it with an ACI evo3 bar style. it had a lot of light. It got to 80cpt, but any more fries all plants. the buds are heavy-ish, but they are full of leaves. the calyx:leaf ratio isn’t that high. the blue rhino i took down has similar structure, but better a ratio.

mine didn’t flower at 16 hours. i kept her at that for 2 weeks, then flipped. she was at 24 before then. trichs were still a bit clear at day 69. I think it can go longer, but not sure what will happen to those mini golf balls.

trichs day 69:

Here she is outdoors. Leafy asf. Placed in soil and watered a few times. Put some early lowers in the HerbsNOW dryer and the smoke is reminiscent of 2-3 decades ago. Can’t add anything as far as smell or taste but the effects made this grower happy.

Blessings
