Who owns an antique car nowadays?

This is in my state Illinois…

Antique Vehicle License Plates are issued for a five year registration period expiring Dec. 31, 2024. To qualify for Antique Plates, motor vehicles, including motorcycles, must be more than 25 years old. Firefighting vehicles must be at least 20 years old.

Stock, hot rod, rat rod?

I’m probably going to rat rod my 36 Plymouth… can do it for 10g vs 100g for a hot rod lol

Nice project, how long do you think it will take? Can’t wait to see it when its finally done…

Not sure still working on the body I have the Motor running gear and chassis ready for the body. Need warmer weather to start painting body parts. I took this all apart 8 years ago and just started back on this project a couple months ago.

I’m in a long term love hate relationship with a 71 Karmann Ghia coupe. since the last century. I get so close to finish then tear into something else. I keep thinking my grandson will pull his head from his rectum, and become the person I’d love to gift it to.
I spent years finding parts and what not. But I’m losing interest as I get older and may just take of the many offers I have on it.

Apparently I started thinking videos were easier than photos the closer I got to harvest and there’s no uploading giant ass videos on this forum :joy: I hope you meant the greenhouse and not the truck… :joy:

Fuck bud that was so long ago I’m not even sure if I’m being honest. I know Jagg Kush was my performer that year and there were a few South African Kwazulu from world of seeds way at the back that got monstrous but that’s about all I remember lol. My outdoor is an ongoing experiment to find what’s best grown in the ongoing joke that is Michigan’s climate. Fucking bodies of water completely surrounding the state makes our weather unpredictable outside of a 2 day span on any day of the year

Soooo many cool cars in this thread! I got to say though I’m a die hard Poncho man. I have love for all classics but I only work on and drive Pontiacs.
Mine is a driveway queen these days as the shop that was supposed to install my engine shut down during Covid and I can’t do an engine install in my gravel driveway in the mountains.
If I can’t get it running this year I’m going to sell it as I can’t stand to see it just sitting.
It’s a 71 Lemans Sport knockoff with a built TH400, 3.55 gears and a 455 roller cammed motor with ported 6X heads. Should be around 425 horsepower and 550 lb ft of TQ.

Pictures are at Ft Hood military housing where I did the first engine swap and hillbilly body work. It was originally an AZ car and was in great shape rust wise. One of the guys got orders to go to Korea and sold it to me cheap. I’ve owned it 25 years now.

It’s so funny seeing all of these “antique” cars that, with a couple of exceptions, I remember being new models! I’m a fuckin’ antique! lol (1)

Our family car when I was very young was a 1970 Cutlass in that horrid dark green. Dad sold it to get a family car when my sister was born. He got a 1976 Toyota Corona wagon and it was the ugliest thing I’d ever seen with fake wood grain stickers on the side. When I got old enough to fall in love with cars I wanted to strangle him😂. He bought it new off the lot, cars were cool as hell in the 70’s.

I learned to drive with my old mans brand new 69 firebird 350 cu. I think about it now, he was sweating bullets! Lol
I think he paid about $3600 for it with wide oval tires. Option at the time.
