Who plays video games?

Just beat and platinumed Horizon Forbidden West. Good game even though it felt a bit fetchy at times. There will be another and I imagine since I liked and platinumed this and the first one that I will do the same for that one.

Starfield Direct from Bethesda has come out…

Looks sick.

Yeah it does look really good! I’ve been excited and anxious for starfield for ages now, I pray to the gaming gods, that this game really is as open/free to do as you choose as they say it is. No mans sky has a huge world, like really really big, so I hope starfield doesnt feel small in comparison.

Personally, I’d love if you could build settlements (like fallout 4) and equip your settlers with random gear and make trade routes between places.
Fallout 4s settlement system was fun, especially with mods. Then having randomly to defend them or let your settlers do it if you’re not able to get back in time.

Resource collection is fairly important to me too as in skyrim, I loved having tons of stuff to make tons of potions to either use or sell, hopefully we get an even bigger system. Starfield has potential to be phenomenal.

Spent probably 1-2% of my life on UT 99… Loved that game. Played Deck 16 wayyy tooo much. I tried some arena FPS couple years ago, but I’m just too old now lol… Don’t have the reaction time.

Been playing some BattleBit Remastered, having a lot of fun with it, just pure chaotic fun.

I beat Dead Island 2 and am just running around completing the few side missions. I’m really close to the platinum trophy just from unlicking so many while playing the game so I might as well chase it. Plus the only thing that kept me from platinuming the first one was stupid online coop stuff like have 4 players, each as a different character. They shouldn’t make trophy requirements something that’s completely out of your control like that. Anyway none of that nonsense with this one thankfully and I’ll probably have it done tonight. Overall it was a pretty fun game.

Any Halo 3 gamers here? I play MCC almost exclusively. I’d love to play with some fellow OGers!:grin::grin:

Yeah, BattleBit is great. With 254ppl in a server its madness lol.
127 vs 127 is fun and chaotic!

It’s got Roblox style graphics, but the gun play, proximity/squad chat, and progression system is great. The Death Comms are hilarious.

Ahaha yea it gets pretty intense, tracers and explosions flying all over the place. After a couple min in I completely forget about the graphics. The comms are definitely hilarious " medic I can’t feel my legs!"

PokƩmon led me to believe there was a viable living to be made in animal fighting.

The grim reality of the situation is I can barely scrape by.

Just kidding. Ever try to get a cat into a carrier, much less a pokƩball?

The trick is to put the cat carrier so the entrance is pointing up. Then grab cat, pick it up and make the legs go in first, then shove the arms and head in and close the opening as quickly as possible without getting a paw caught. :joy_cat:
I don’t have any poke ball experience, can’t help ya there.

ā€œComputer games don’t affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us kids, we’d all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.ā€

I worked in the games industry for many years after being a gamer for many years before that, it’s the fastest way to cure a gaming habit that’s for sure lol. I still check out all the latest games, but it’s more checking out what new tech has evolved. The cost in developing a game now is insane, you have about a 1 in 10 chance of making a profit, that’s why most everything is a franchise or a sequel. It’s a different industry these days.

No joke, games nowadays suck only game I’ve been eyeing is Diablo 4 but am waiting for a sale probably on Black Friday, I was going to build a top of the line PC next year, 4090, 14900k, 64gb ram but I dont really game anymore, when I do it’s just to play Halo 3 multi-player with my long time friends

Yeah, half of it is because everything is dumbed down for consoles, and because the market is mostly console, the makers charge huge amounts for the SDK and dev tools, so a game company has to bank the whole studio at 10:1 odds for every game project!
It’s why the big publishers are also the big development studios, the cost are insane, like every character in a top tier game costs 100k to make btt all costs are factored in, and that’s not even one to crazy detail. It’s like the movie production studios of old at the moment, all churning out the same safe boring shit with no creativity in any of it because creativity costs too much $$ and risks being controversial.

Diablo 4 is pretty sweet though I have to say, better than average definitely.

I was big into Diablo 1-3 but have heard alot of good things about 4, definitely a must play for me! Whenever I have the time lol, my work schedule is 4pm-2:30am Mon-Thurs but I usually take all the OT I can get to fund my expensive seed buying addiction haha, usually tired as can be on the weekends and I try to spend as much time with my sons as possible, which leaves very little time to get immersed into a new game, so I just usually default to Halo, I’ve been playing that since like 2003 and it holds a dear place in my heart, lot of fond memories and much trashtalking :rofl::rofl:
