Who's going to the Karma Cup this year?

As many may know, the Karma Cup has resumed after a couple year hiatus due to the VID. Come September 10-11, who’s gonna be there and what interests you the most about the show this year?

The wife and I have been attending since 2018 and I am mostly interested in seeing what the providers have been up to as far as their selections as well as sourcing genetics. I’ll also be handing out beans to anyone who wants some, so look for a old tattooed grey beard in a shirt with my avatar on it. Not into it enough to be a judge but I’m hunting an F1 cross I did for possible entry next year. Hopefully we’ll see a bunch of you fine folks there this year!:peace_symbol:

You know… that might be doable…
We got some big stuff in play right now but it should be sorted before then…
Do you know what the closing date for signup is?
(I’m on limited access ATM)

Sounds fun. Where is it?

It’s held in Toronto @Hemp . I don’t think they announce the exact location till a couple days before. It’s usually in a walled off parking lot in the downtown area.:peace_symbol:

This was never on my radar before but at $42.12 admission plus GO fare, all of a sudden I’m considering a day trip.

It’s getting more commercial every year but we still enjoy it. Lots of Herb to be had and lots of like minded stoners.

You got a tattoo fast. You must have used @Foreigner pen. It works. Lol I don’t think I could have sat for that. Even for seeds.

The 9th Annual Karma Cup…
Judge’s Package

Thanks to Butterton for bringing the Karma Cup to my attention.

Normally I’d look at the gate price and just grump at the cost but this fall there was a rare alignment of fate that allowed me to splash out for a Judge’s package. I decided to share this experience with those that might wondering what’s in there that could possibly be worth the $655 plus taxes.

My motivation (excuse) for purchasing the package is to see what the qualities of the flower samples are like (relative to mine) and to explore and experience the extracts offered as this is new territory for me.

You know… For Science!!

July 28 order placed, conformation on the 29th.

Aug 11, Email notice from Karma Cup that it is the last day to have the kits shipped ($40 extra).

(I’m somewhat local so I’m picking mine up)

Aug 19 Received instructions for where and when for the pickup, downtown Toronto, my favourite place to drive… Anyway, that’s another story…

I got the kit, the swag bag and a door mat, cool!

The swag bag is large, lots of goodies, seeds, edibles, rosin, vape oils etc, etc. and we are talking serious strength on the edibles!

The samples for judging:

Bud

Indica : 19 samples

Hybrid : 18 samples

Sativa : 9 samples

SOLVENT Extracts : 7 samples

HIGH TERPENE extracts: 10 samples

Solventless Extracts: 12 samples

CBD: 6 samples

Topicals: 13 samples

Edibles: 20 samples

and I need to submit my scores before Sept 9th…

I have employed my ‘better half’ to help with the topicals as she experiences more and different pain issues than I.

In the immortal words of Slim Pickens… YEEE HAWww…

yee haw

This is like stoner Christmas!!

I tried a sativa, to kick off this adventure. It was very clear headed and just a bit stronger than I’ve managed. And classic energetic sativa effects…
…Its why I’m typing.

Decent bud size and packaging. Approx. 1 gram
I did 2 bowls on the freshly cleaned Pax and grinder too. (still have some left :+1:)
This is a crazy amount of weed and extracts to try and score… Let alone the edibles…

First lesson of the day…

When you get the munchies… stay out of the swag bag, face melting gummies…

Time to get back to Doom (2005)

Wow that’s awesome @Gpaw ! Your making me regret not being a judge this year. What a great adventure, having to wade through 70-80 samples! May the stoner force be with you!:peace_symbol:

I hope you guys have fun. I went to a little small festival. It wasn’t much to it. They were given seeds away but they were all outdoor. Somewhere very white.

Diving a little deeper into the Swag Bag

Here is the seeds inventory:

  • Gods Sluricane by JOTI, 12 reg beans :+1:
  • White Lightning by The Bees Knees, 6 fem auto beans
  • Jackie Chiles by Vandelay Seed Co, (Koko Puffs x Strawberry Sinment Cookies)
  • Moonshine OG by Scallywag Seed co, (blue Moonshine x Topanga Canyon OG), 8 beans
  • Blue Glue Auto by Butterbean Birdseed
  • Shiatsu Kush (F2) by Thumbprint Genetics, 10 beans
  • Girl Scout Pebbles by MedMan, 4 beans

The best Swag is definitely the Nectar Collector (titanium tip) and torch.
I love pyrotechnics but the idea of giving stoners mini-flamethrowers… Hmm…

The Med Man beans are part of a little grow kit included in the swag bag.
I don’t know the other breeders but I’m sure glad to see that Sluricane cross from JOTI!

The edibles in the swag bag are interesting:

Tasty THC Sour sample mix, 3Pcs. at 60mg THC & 5mg CBD each.
Left Coast Gummy Co., 6Pcs. at 100mg each. {face melters!}
stoned 2

There is a really nice pre-rolled blunt (with resin) from The Cannabis Wonderland, that I’m saving for a special occasion… Anniversary coming up… hmm…

On the vape side of things, there is a Tasty THC vape and 1.1mg tank of Banana Kush.

There is an East Coast Gold 1\2gm cartridge and a Honey Badger Extract disposable vape pen (Biscotti)…
Anyone know how this works? I charged it but there doesn’t seem to be a switch…

Cheers
