Why do you grow?

Simple question but being a grower and gardener in the deep south, I obviously do what I do bc it’s the cleanest and best form of obtaining medicine, but also for the pure enjoyment of seeing plants go from seedlings to mature ladies haha. Just curious how many, if any, folks grow for non consumption reasons? Like maybe you stopped smoking a while back but just simply appreciate the benefits of gardening.

I love to smoke, don’t get me wrong, but I consider myself a biological artist. Growing cannabis is just one of many mediums I use to express myself. I also work with landscapes, craft recipes for beer, wine, mead, and sake, and cultivate mushrooms for both medicine and food. My obsession with pollen chucking is just another extension of that creative drive.

In short, biology is life .

I have medical, religious, and recreational reasons for putting seeds in the ground.

I grow pot to stick my finger in the governments eye. For me the “war on drugs” was and still is an actual war. It will not end until one of us is gone.

@Til_Valhalla is really a great example of someone taking the initiative by exploring and experimenting with cannabis for medical research… from my interactions with him super solid guy and his thread very informative. Btw man hoping to pop those lavender GDP hybrids soon just clearing some space after these upcoming harvests

Because life kept me from these plants long enough.
Really that’s about how the theme of my life and marijuana has went. Always daydreaming about how id do things in a different world.
I fought the law and the law won anyway so looking back I should have went for it. Probably would have kept me out of all kinds of other stuff.

thank you.

i look at ganj a lot differently than i did when i was a teenager. there is beneficial medicine in there.
we were born with an endocannabinoid system in our brains/bodies, and were MEANT to interact with this plant. still trying to figure out that capacity and several other key aspects.

i’m very excited to see y’all get started on these. thanks again for agreeing to test for me. appreciate you.

We live an all natural life and I find limonene dominant strains to be the best natural product when it comes to eliminating stress from the worldly ways we are forced to abide to. One love brothers and sisters!

Dispo bud is terrible now days.

I’m getting my setup dialed in and will grow my own meds.

I’ll know what goes into it and I’m sure it will be much higher quality medicine.

I’m also interested in 1:1 cbd/thc strains which they don’t even sell at dispensaries. At least in my area. They don’t sell CBD strains either.

Also, no land race buds for sale. I’m interested in strains from 90s early 2000s as well which are also not sold.

So many reasons to grow our own. I mentioned just a few above. Happy I found this community.

I enjoy growing plants, I ha e a collection of rare house plants as well. Both the growth rates and over end game rewards are much more satisfying with canna than house plants lol

I’m growing for a few reasons. The foremost being that I’m someone who understands greed can ruin even the best of intentions. As such i want as few people in between myself and my flower or food or whatever else as i can get. Another major reason is that i can basically grow what i want and find what works best for me.

I think about my great grandpa growing pakalolo in Panaewa when my grandpa was a child, I think about how it is a part of something more, then when I sit outside with my plants wether I’m stoned or not and it just feels the most complete I’ve felt since I stopped playing football.

Price of smoke is outrageous at the dispensary’s and although there are some great deals in the black market at the end of the day you just can’t be 100% sure what the hell is in the ganja they are selling.
I don’t just get to choose what to smoke but know exactly what’s in it.
:beers:
