I’ve previously grew under the moniker blackcatgenetics333 a few years ago, where I undertook some landrace preservations from Snowhigh. I’ve since taken a couple years break from growing cannabis but now I’ve returned and rebranded as Wonderbloom Farms, since there is already another weed breeder named blackcatgenetics on instagram as well. I’ve mostly worked exclusively with landrace sativas but now am looking to experiment with some new breeding and preservation ideas.
🧪 Breeding Projects
Project 1: A New Haze-Type Building Block
After a few years of growing Haze, I have come to the conclusion that haze sucks. I know there are some growers who love Haze, but I have grown to hate the hay taste and psychedelic shroom like effect. It's a nice treat here and there, but all in all I find myself rarely reaching for the Haze jar, partially due to smell and partially due to how ungrounded it makes me. sometimes I want to trip but most times i want to chill. The goal of this project is to create a new sativa building block that has: 1) the haze like euphoria 2) actually taste and smells good 3) looks visually appealing enough for mass adoption 4) grows easy enough in grow tents for the home grower. there should be better Sativa options for breeders to use IMO, as I believe the taste of haze gets boring, fast.🧬 Project Details
- Strain/Variety: ( Vietnamese x Colombian x Lemon Thai x Purple Paki Chitral)
- Grow Method:Going to do Kratky method hydroponics indoors
- Lighting: HLG Scorpion Diablo supplemented with cool T8 LEDs
- Plant Count: 20 seeds of Viet Haze and 20 seeds of PCK\LT
- Current Stage: Vegetative stage
Project 2 : Strawberry Banana Terps
there are a few strawberry banana lines out there, but you know, none of them have become popular and i havent heard any rave reviews about them. Besides, I didnt create them :P I've grown out both Strawberry Meltshake crosses and my Banana OG crosses and can confirm the existence of True Breeding strawberry jam terps and Candy Banana terps in both of these seed lines. the plan is to find a strawberry mother keeper, a banana mother keeper and cross the two. this will be a first for me - I've never bred with Indicas ever and have always selected for effect instead of scent
Project 3 : Snowhigh Reproductions
I've done a single plant test run of Snowhigh's Vietnamese Trainwreck and I really liked how Snowhigh replaced the hay and grass taste of Vietnam Black. Mentally, I always reference the Vietnamese Trainwreck as one of the best examples of trait transfer and Backcross breeding. These seeds are really old, and germ rate is really low. I only have 8 seeds of each so this one may or may not succeed. At least I germinated it during a new moon through :) If these fail, I'll probably look for another at risk seed line to preserve🧬 Project Details

📝 Notes & Observations
- Viet haze F2 seedlings has about 10% of the seedlings sprouted with 3 leaves and all of the plants are red stemmed
