Absolutely beautiful!
did you use a filter for those pics? they are beautiful
No filters, no flash @Who. I set the camera to macro mode and . I’m usually a bit shaky, lol.
That frost last night became a freeze . Temp bottomed at 26 deg.F with 90% RH. The 6 in the greenhouse had browned leaves. I covered the in ground girls with 8 ft, improvised, bags. They were a bit too heavy and bent Goji #3 Cola . The pistils on all plants started yellowing today. Some of Granny Skunk #3’s leaves twisted, canoed, and feel freeze-dried.
Some bud shots
This afternoon I ran some 1/2" paracord between 2 supports to carry the weight of a plastic tent. It ain’t fancy, but it’ll work, (I hope).
I’ll update tomorrow with pics.
Beautiful, I think i would frame that pic.
Man thats a bummer. Hopefully these temps dont stick around for too long.
supposedly where going to get back into the 80- 90’s for a bit.
It happens.
Me either! We got a warm trend for the rest of the week. Then it’s low 60’s, 40’s at night. Harvest is near
Hi all! The makeshift tent did save the plants. The following 2 nights were 30 & 32 deg. But, the paracord sagged, and bent all but 2 colas. If my math is right, we’re on Day 72 of flowering.
The Goji crosses have a lot more trichs, but you need a 30x loupe to see em.
The Granny Skunk crosses need a little more time, I think. They fattened up OK.The frost build up was slower.
I may be wrong, but I think the frost accelerated the thrichome change. In just 3 days, every trich, on every plant I saw (at 30x) was cloudy. None were clear & very few were amber. Time to sharpen the chainsaw!
Would be interesting to know for sure, could be a somewhat useful technique even, quick cool them…interesting
The weather here in the Midwest US pushed things up on harvest for me. My sour diesel was done 3 weeks to a month ahead of what I expected.
I’m glad the weather worked in your favor. I chopped these due to a week long, rainy & cold forecast. The greenhouse girls get the axe before sunrise.
Hi everyone! The wet, cold weather has ended this years grow . We saved the greenhouse girls & chopped the rest 5 days ago. They survived those frosty nights, but went dormant a few days later. No fattening up or trichome buildup. Luckily, no botrytis either. It was their time!
I sampled some of N.S. x Goji (3) while dry trimming today. It was really smooth for being uncured. It had the berry terps, but that first toke, head rush was subdued. A very relaxing body buzz followed. No couchlock! She could have used another week of warmer weather.
The greenhouse girls look the same as last week, except for more yellowing. Their colas are fatter compared to the in ground plants. Here’s NSxGranny Skunk (7)
NS x Granny Skunk (6)
NS x Goji (5) The “Green” pheno
NS x Goji (6)
A little bud porn…
It’s interesting that trichomes only formed on the purple areas of the leaves. Their time has come too . I’ll update with a smoke report, weights etc. once they’re cured.
I want to thank @SCJedi for giving me the oportunity to grow these wonderful plants. And I want to thank you all, for stopping by and sharing.
Nice grow man. Looks like we’re in for a harsh winter. Ive been hoping to keep my plants going through the cold. Granted on in the lower peninsula in the grand rapids area.
@Yooper63 Hot Damn I love the purple
You did a wonderful job
Thanks for sharing
Peace
Paps
RIP to my Nigerian Sunshine mom. She had a good run.
That Goji did something really wild to the purple coloring in that NS2 pheno. She was always some shape of purple, and EVERYTHING her brother touched turned purple, but these colorations are pretty wild.
Great job @Yooper63!
Have you grown plants outside in the winter here in the LP?!?!
Gorgeous
I have not. I go indoor for the winter
Yeah, those buds may not have turned out the strongest, but they sure did end up the prettiest. Holy shit, those purples/blacks are craaaazyyyyy… Real pretty.
