In fact, the word ‘bong’, which describes a water pipe often used to smoke weed, comes from the Thai language.

important milestone! this bill also legalizes CBD and all CBD products too. that’s huge, in many states there are still raids on CBD stores. I think this will allow the sale of low-THC whole-extract cannabis products. So that could mean big resinous buds of cannabis that have all the cannabinoids and terpenes but THC below .3%.

Interesting and amusing article.

Over 80 years of vile, misguided prohibition has created this dichotomy.
Cannabis use is still stigmatized.
It is only now slowly improving.

Well, can’t say I can muster any sympathy for this guy, considering that he’s a convicted murderer.

Not a big fan of Mike Adam’s writing, this is typical for him. He seems to be perpetuating his own stereotype. Of course people ring in the New Year with cannabis, and celebrate victories with cannabis. If you get away from your boozing friends you might discover a whole new world out there.

And if he thinks the new “breathyzer” is going to increase social acceptance of cannabis he’s tripping, it’s not possible to create one that actually measures impairment…that is going to be a tool to single us out and round us up for jail and not much more.

Good to have this study in the toolbox for local retail obstruction - really positive result:

THE EFFECT OF MARIJUANA DISPENSARY OPENINGS ON HOUSING PRICES

we find that the introduction of a new dispensary within a half‐mile radius of a new home increases home prices by approximately 7.7% on average.

Momentum on this issue must be sustained.

From piece:
“This movement is cresting,” Blumenauer wrote. “Now is our moment.”

“The irony, marijuana advocates say, is that the problems were caused by the scarcity of stores — and now opponents are using those problems to argue for more scarcity.”
