There is a problem and I don’t know how to fix it.

See my post

Mota, whatever the number is after you click edit, just add next number shown. Wiki will fix. There’s no problem. The problem is you thinking there’s a problem

Why is this so hard? After you click edit, add next number shown.

Simple.

Thank you. I’ve done several of these now and this has never appeared before, showing my name on two different numbers. And nobody else was editing as I was editing.

Thanks again, @PioneerValleyOG!

Same here. And was reading a post earlier that said if the numbers didnt jive, to give a heads up.

It’s just a quirk of the forum software; when we use numbered lists for the wikis, the software automatically puts it into the numbered list format. That basically makes it ignore the actual numbers we enter and organize everything in the order in which it’s written. In this case, @Mi-1000 entered his number as 24, skipping 21-23. The software, counting the actual entries rather than the numbers we’ve marked them with, corrects it and puts the list in order. It only matters if people want to choose their number. Some care about that, some don’t… everyone’s odds should be the same regardless, though.

Thank you for this excellent explanation. You worded it better than i ever could.

Maybe instead of the ‘add more numbers as needed’ as the last tag, you should add

‘Add next number you see after you open the wiki.’

Yup, the offset numbers were one issue from someone skipping a number but it also looks as though when someone adds spaces to that last line, where they shouldn’t be editing, the history events get muffed up and show that last line as being edited for each successive edit until those spaces get removed… so this pic reflects two separate issues
