Growing CBD strains - how do you tell when its 'ripe'?

From my understanding, no CBD does not need to be decarbed.

Hello @cultivatorkid and welcome to OG!

Do you have a link with info on that?

I am just now drying a recent mostly CBD harvest and will be making RSO soon. I might try making some both ways as a test, but Id like to see some data first.

I have to warn you, disagreeing with @ReikoX is risky. He isnt often wrong

Well, Technically he is right - CBD does not need to be decarbed because it is already CBD (same as THC). Now if you want the other cannabinoids (CBDa) to convert to CBD then you will need to decarb (same as THCa needs to decarb to convert to THC)

CBD is not psychoactive, so there is no need to cross the blood brain barrier. Therefore, there is no need to decarb CBD in order to get the medicinal (mainly anti inflammatory) benefits. THC is decarbed so you get the psychoactive effect. THCA actually has many of the same medicinal benefits of CBD/A, I find non-decarbed tinctures to be great for anti anxiety effects.
