This is known as the Carmagnolle armored diving suit. It was constructed by two brothers, Alphonse and Theodore Carmagnolle. It was patented in 1882. Looks like a tiny leak in the right shoulder. 
We’ll move bottom to top. Totally looks like some kind of extraterrestrial alien breathing apparatus. Hmmmm… Extra?..
This is where these photos came from. There are several other armored diving suits shown and discussed, some older, others newer, all amazing, IMO.
