When our 1st son was only a month old- and he was a TINY preemie, I do not know how many times I got out of the car and started to walk to the store- then RAN back to the car to see if I brought him with me!!! That was a HUGE lack of sleep & hormonesā¦he had to be force-fed every 2 hoursā¦Good timesā¦
My parents left me at a gas station on a cross country trip, I was in the bathroom. Mom & Dad W/3 boys in a camper, 1968ā¦we were gone for the summer and visited all the lower 48.
Parents returned 3 hours later, Dad was really pissedā¦I was 8ā¦that was an awesome summer.
At a time before cellphones-- that coulda been a really bad thingā¦

Same as my kids got-- taken to the car, a LONG and nasty lecture, and PROMISED that if they did it again they would not see the inside of any store for the rest of their lives-- they would stay home with Dad and do extra chores while Mom shopsā¦
