Yep. I moved in here to look after my gran due to her Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Not fun; much stress. 3/4 of a year in she thought I was her Father… she hates her father… this made care-giving very difficult and the dangerous as she got violent.

I know that wasn’t my gran but a disease making life hell for her and I and so many others out there.

I watched both my mother and father go senile while trying to care for them. Very difficult. Perhaps it is not so good to live too long.

I met a prostitute last night, she said $100 for an evening of love making. My Response " Why would I give you $100 when I have two good hands and a $2 bottle of lotion"

Sorry you had to go through that…My Grandmother and Great Grandfather both had dementia in their 80’-90’s…I used to live in constant terror of it- as I have some cognitive decline due to other medical conditions…
BUT- I have been checked- and do so every 5 years…
Advances mean I don’t have to worry as much- especially since no one in My or my Mom’s generation of our family have it either…Mom is now 86, and no different than she’s been most of my life! So I don’t worry (often) anymore!
 :+1:

My mom is 84. She has severe macular degeneration that has exacerbated her mental and physical decline greatly.

Her mobility is severely impaired and she is unable dress or even to get out of the bed on her own. My 85 year old dad is her primary caregiver.

This decline has taken less than 12-months to occur. -very rapid.
