to the Monk
My favorite YouTube comment is, “God I hope those drums were 18”.
Stone groove, bluesy breakdown. It’s like it hypnotizes and snaps you out of it. Mom said, “play it again!” out loud from her room.
Wow, I don’t know if I should take offense, or feel complimented.
Then it dawned on me that I am probably older than your Mom.
Now I just feel old.
Oh well, it beats the alternative.
Mom is 68 and really cool. She smokes and paints all day. She is very Motown and Jazz centered. You can also catch her listening to Juanes and Maná who are kinda like the Rob Thomas and Counting Crows of Latin America. I liked it because I was raised on George Benson and Wes Montgomery among so many others!
Mentira! Mentira! Mentira! Mentira!
Funky Friday!
Well, as I suspected I sure am old, and indeed, a little older than your Mom.
I graduated from High School in 1967, the same year I discovered smoking weed.
As you have probably noticed, I am into mostly jazz and classical, and I know nothing about Rob Thomas or Counting Crows.
But I like Benson and Montgomery for sure.
I’m a big fan of Terry Kath and Gary Moore too.
