I’m a bit out of sorts this morning. I just learned that a fellow taper (someone who records live concert audio) passed away suddenly. He was known online as Boa and was the official archivist for The Black Crowes and their associated spinoffs and solo projects. He maintained CrowesBase - a database of all their lives performances where you can find many of his personal recordings for free download: http://www.crowesbase.com/
Boa was a kind soul who always went out of his way to help others. He would loan out recording gear freely, and served as a point of contact for any issues that arise when trying to record the band. He was local to me when I lived in St. Louis so I had the pleasure of attending many of the same shows and sharing conversation… He will be missed.
