I get myself in trouble bringing this up, but itā€™s always driven me a little nuts that ā€œPass the Dutchieā€ gets passed around like itā€™s about herb smoking, when itā€™s a whitewashed version of The Mighty Diamondā€™s ā€œPass the Kutchieā€ which is explicitly about herb (kutchie being Jamaican slang for waterpipe). Pass the Dutchie isnā€™t about herb smoking at all (though I suppose one could argue changing the lyrics to be about food doesnā€™t change the underlying song being referenced).
