I attended that show!!!
The Grateful Dead never planned their setlist in advance. Generally they would alternate between Bob Weir and Jerry Garcia choosing the next tune. At this show, Bob opened with fairly standard Hell In A Bucket, but then Jerry dropped this huge, funky Shakedown Street that had all of Soldier Field dancing!!!
This screen cap shows Bruce Hornsby who was touring with the band at that time. He was a great musical foil for Jerry, and helped ease the transition from Brent Mydland, the keyboardist who had passed away following the end of their tour the previous summer, and his replacement Vince Welnick (formerly of The Tubes).
