Don’t expect great plot or acting, just great music. FWIW, Louis Jordan was the biggest selling Black musical artist of the entire 1940s, the whole decade. He made a bunch of movies similar to this one.

I love Toots and was fortunate to record him at a music festival in 2008, but my favorite version of 54-46 is by Byron Lee & The Dragonaires. It’s all about his vocal performance!
