Can you help identify my plants problem

Awesome! I think you are on it.
@George hit the nail.

PH being so high, seems P would suffer?

Looking in the rearview, I now understand a few of my early grows probably suffered from high coco ph. I’m still learning! Lol

Guess I’ll try watering at like 5.2 ph to see if that brings down the run off ph.

FYI.
From coco for cannabis…

“Although it is critical to adjust the pH of the inflow, you should not be concerned with the pH of the run-off water. Your only concern with pH is always providing nutrient solution (inflow) that is in the appropriate range. Many growers make the bad decision to provide nutrient solution that is outside of the acceptable range in a misguided attempt to correct run-off pH values. This can destabilize the pH of the nutrient solution in the root zone and make nutrients unavailable. To avoid this common pitfall, simply ignore the pH of the run-off.”

If mine…I would be flushing big time with nutes 5.9. Then feeding nutes 5.9 to runoff. Checking runoff EC in comparison to input EC. Feed more often to help get/keep roots in the zone.
Me 2c.

Acceptable pH Range in Coco: 5.5-6.5

Coco does not buffer the pH of nutrient solution as effectively as soil and therefore it is critical to set the pH of the nutrient solution inflow within the range of 5.5 to 6.5. Because different nutrients are soluble at different pH, it is best to allow the pH to drift up and down within the range on successive fertigation events. During the majority of the grow your inflow pH should fluctuate around an average of 5.9. However, during the seedling and ripening phases it is best to target somewhat higher in the range (6.1-6.3). If you have any questions about pH, be sure to see our tutorial, “How to Measure and Adjust pH for Cannabis Nutrients”.

Sorry if tmi. I was on a roll reading the coco techno porn.

Thanks GT I have read that a few times before, but its really hard to follow things and to know what is actually good or bad info. Some say to test it then others not to. Some say watering daily and even a few times a day and some say let it go a day or so without. Everyone has what works for them. So a little background on the start, I used brink coco did a few rinses get the nasty parties out. I never buffered it with a ph cal mix just washed it with tap then planted seed. Could be a problem cal or mag issue that way but I’ll never know. Already set in buying prebuffered loose coco. The brick is just messy washing and a little time consuming. I do still have about half a brick I’m just gonna chuck it or something who knows.

Coco overload for sure. It’s a lot to digest. So many opinions flying around. 4years I’ve been learning. Still making mistakes. Lol

But back to the brick…
Based on techno writeups. They say the coco fiber PH can be effed up by washing with funky PH levels.
At cocoforcannabis they say to buffer in ph higher than 6.2. But they dont give any upper PH limit.
Hmmmm.

Many use brick with success.

I prefer the best bagged prerinsed prebuffered stuff I can find.

You guys are right pH needs to be stable or you will get lock out .

Yea I’m gonna buy some good quality coco that’s prebuffered and ready to go.

Ive been running in coco now for a year and a half. I’ve experienced that very same conditions. The two products that I’ve learned to use religiously. Sledgehammer by fox farms (I use it without fail every 21 days followed by a ph corrected water with cal-mag) then back to nutes. The second is an ancient (1940’s) product called SuperThrive (as recommended) I started running it after the sledgehammer and with the cal-mag and water.
This process has made all the difference for my growing style. Best of luck.

What are you using for lighting and how close are they

I was using screw in leds and the were pretty close. I would say maybe 5 to 7 inches above the tops. I didn’t think it was light burn at first but I am ruling in part light burn along with mag def. I have since bought some new buffered coco and a mars hydro ts600. The new light is about 12inches from the plants tops now.
