Everyone from Oklahomaā¦
Get out and vote tomorrow. We have a great opportunity to legalize recreational cannabis but we can only change the law if we voice our opinions. It wonāt change by itself!
Please, please, pleaseā¦ Go vote on Tuesday.
The part that doesnāt quite make sense is that the 60% cap only applies to solid concentrates. Liquid concentrates can be above 60%. The āthis law only empowers the unregulated marketā argument is kinda dumb, but it is true that the law hamstrings licensed manufacturers.
The cow is out of the barn now. Shoot, itās in the next county and no putting it back up. How is holding back legalization going to accomplish anything?
Hopefully everyone who signed the petition gets them and all their friends to go vote. Since itās a special election, itās the only thing on the ballot in my precinct. Only voters who care about undoing weed prohibition, whether for or against, will be showing up to vote on this one.
The only negative about it, I reckon, is the 15% excise tax in addition to the typical sales tax. So that will put the tax at around 25%. Thatās bad for legal commercial ops, but it keeps the āblack marketā more robust. Letās call it what it is, the free market.
From the perspective of the home grower, adults 21+ can each grow 6 mature and 6 immature with up to 12 and 12 per household. Convictions and criminal records overturned/expunged. Smoke anywhere you can smoke tobacco, except while operating or riding in a vehicle. Have in your house however much your plants produce, and transport up to an oz on your person.
Unfortunately, it does explicitly permit employers to prohibit their employees from partaking.
Also, maintains 2500usd for commercial licensing fee, so relatively low cost for entry to the commercial market is maintained for small time growers if they want to try. Although, there is a 2 year period before new applicants can apply. We are currently in a moratorium for issuing new commercial licenses, and only currently licensed medical ops can get the commercial rec licenses.
i voted a resounding YES today took my daughter with me to see how the process worrks
Good. States that maintain prohibition (especially to the degree that Texas does) deserve to lose money to states with more sensible laws. Oklahoma is not perfect, but itās a hell of a lot better than Texas, in terms of cannabis laws.
Some people just donāt want to let go.
Iām sure they are counting on big revenue flowing in from the Dallas metroplex. Itās 1.5 hrs to the border from Dallas. I wouldnāt be surprised if the tribe opens dispos on their land by the casino right at the border.
CNN is projecting the OK ballot question did not pass.
Local news called it for No. 90% of precincts reporting with 309k No and 167k Yes. Its a bummer. I think the No votes didnāt like the way medical rolled out with dispos everywhere you go and grows all over the rural areas.
Sometimes it can be a good thing to pass on some laws that are not quite right.
Only time will tell, I hope they do a good job for you folks over there.
The track record has not been that good, maybe they will get a bit closer to what folks really want this time around.
Good luck OK.
Was just coming to post this.
I was right there with ya telling people to vote for decriminalization instead of legalization.
Under MMJ, gardeners were allowed to sell their product to anyone.
Under Rec, only companies can sell weed.
