Last year, we had a big surplus. We were giving away 5 gallon buckets full to all
of our neighbors and friends and we still had too many. My wife sells off our excess veggies and fruit at our small town farmers market as the bounty comes in.
It cost us $5 to have a table at the farmers market on Saturdays and was well worth it. We sold quite a few bushels of them, on top of all the ones we gave away, and we still had too many. I want to get a heavy duty cider press for next year as the one we used last year was a cheap one and did not hold up.
This coring, slicing, and peeling tool is a must for doing that many apples for canning.
Our peaches, red raspberries, black raspberries, and blackberries, red currants, and nanking cherries get made into jam and canned up in pint jars. We have a bunch of jams also in the fruit cellar.
I fish 100 yards from my back steps off the point. Walleye, sunfish, perch, pike in patterns as water temps fluctuates throughout the season. My grandmother used to catch goldeye and whitefish as well but we mostly consume walleye.
I have the prior state record whitefish pic in this link to the “Anybody else like to fish”, as well as a bunch more pics in this thread. I love fishing.
