One of my friends on OG and another friend in Colorado are looking for dynamite orange strains. Something to compare with the BOO repro wrapping up right now.
I thought I’d help orange lovers out, if I can.
This is the last of my Force Of Nature Genetics’ Gelato 41 x Dino Meat. It’s the last time I’ll say this, and herein will be calling it “Gelato Meat.”
When I grew them last summer, half of them smelled like a ripe orange being peeled. Loudly. As they matured, they developed an orange sherbet aroma. Loudly. Other phenos smelled like fruit cocktail, but they all smelled wonderful.
I planted the last of my seeds, and have seven left but don’t know how many females. I’m seeking the best orange but also the best overall.
When do you plan on separating those Siamese twins ‍♀ ? I have never tried to start more than one at a time per pot. Have you had good luck doing this? What’s the procedure?
I’ve grown autos this way. My plan is to chop the males as soon as they show themselves, take cuttings and run the women all in the same pot. It’s outside, so they should at least do well enough that I can evaluate their smell, taste, and effects.
They won’t yield much but if I like one enough to run it again, IT will.
It’s been just over a month since my last confession. I’ve been doing stem rubs and nothing. Some smells are starting to come out though. I got a gelato-something smell on one.
You could be forgiven for thinking this is one plant, but scroll back because it’s five or six. It’ll thin out when I see males. But the one closest has an orange sherbet smell that isn’t loud yet.
This is Gelato Meat #1. I’m fairly certain she’s a female, so I up-potted today, took two cuttings and did some chiropracty to level the canopy. She’s in the flowering tent now.
She’s two months old. Last year I got some loud smells in veg, but they were all over four months old. This one has a faint orange smell that I think will come out after being on 12s for a couple of weeks.
None of the others were quite big enough to bring in. I did find one male, and I’m pretty sure the rest are females. I might bring in the 7 gallon with five plants in it. I was considering separating them but testing five small plants in parallel works too.
This lady is almost ready to go (I hope it’s a lady). Before I plucked a couple of leaves to allow some light to lower branches, she was a perfect Christmas tree. Well, maybe more of a bay leaf tree (bay tree?)
I hope she’s orange. Because she’s branchy, she totally outgrows her pot, and she’s not flowering yet like some of her sisters are.
I don’t think I’ll be training her. I will up-pot her sometime this week and take some cuttings. I should have done that this weekend, but I just now noticed how well she’s doing.
