Hello Everyone. I’m new to OG. After surfing several grow sites for years I have decided to join here. It seams like a straight up, no bullpoop great bunch of people. And there are a lot of Bodhi fans here.
A little bit about me. Basically I’m just a Southern Illinois Hillbilly. Popped my first beans 35 years ago and don’t t think I have missed an outdoor crop since. Started growing indoors 12-13 years ago. Strictly a soil guy I have always been 100% organic, even before I knew what it was. I grew up on a farm raising corn and soybeans, horses, cows, pigs chickens and rabbit and that’s just what we used for fertilizer. Today I compost, have worm bins and do something daily it seems to improve my soil.
My other true passion is chasing giant whitetail deer with a longbow. I also build traditional black powder rifles. I pretty much live off of the land. The majority of what I eat I have harvested out of the woods, rivers and lakes or out of my garden. And I grow everything I smoke…unless I trade with a friend.
I labored laying water line, logged and did animal control work for the state for years but haven’t worked in about 10. Bruised my spinal cord and it shut me down. Left me in horrible constant pain…so I smoke a lot to help with the pain.
Thanks for allowing me to join such a great group of people. I look forward to contributing whenever I can, learning from the tons of information and hopefully making some good friends

Welcome @Bullskiner65! You’ll fit right in here, bro. Lots of organic growers and all around really good people. Lots of us older type, too. Sounds like you’ll be able to teach others more than learn much. heh. Poke around. There’s a lot to see here. peace

Right on!
Welcome.

Hope you can manage the pain, or maybe find a strain around here that might work even better for you.
CBD enriched strains are becoming more common - - - I like them too because I can smoke a CBD rich joint like a cigarette and not get couch-locked.

Then have another a couple of hours later

That would be great. I would love to find a strain that REALLY works for nerve pain. The myelin is broke down in my cord causing the nerves to cross fire. I have tried a cbd drops for some time and didn’t see much difference. I would love to find a 1:1 with 20% cbd-thc. Thanks Michigreen

Misterbee from Northern Maine. Joined a while back, but only viewed other’s inputs, hoping to find more knowledge…did I ever!!! Being into Organic Farming, raised in Alabama, Father was straight-up Mother Earth devoted. Didn’t realize how much I picked up from observation. It all helped when turning my attention to the Mother of all Herbs!!! Been dilly-dabbing with the Ladies for 2 - 3 years. Got addicted, but not complaining. I own the house next door (storage, woodworking, and grow room). Took the house down this Summer to build a 2 car Garage, workshop, and BIGGER grow area. Looking to try my hand at breeding. I had a breeder-contact from Maryland (Maryland Masher) gift me some of his Silver Nitrate. He informed me that he has Mothers that have been running for 4 - 5 years. Scheduled to receive plenty of cuts and/or clones in the Spring. Have his permission to reverse and dust to TRY and produce seeds. Looking forward to that chapter. I know I’ll probably have a lot of elementary questions regarding breeding tactics, so PLEASE bear with me…I’m a fast learner. Everyone is so cool here, I must add. Thanks and, take care. Also, when I get a 10 Pack of seeds, I am ALWAYS up to offer up 5 - 6 to the members.

You may want to consider: ACDC, Harlequin, or Blackberry Kush for Nerve Pain Management.

Thanks Misterbee. I will look into those

It’s getting bad here now and very stupid.
Heard I can now self identify with being a black man if I wish? Damn that’s fucked up! Ten years ago if I said I was black when I’m white they would have found rascist charge!
They just trying ta screw you and bring diversity issues man.
Yeah I’m white I have black friends I have white friends and basically a lot of friends from a lot of different backgrounds.
When I was a child my best friend was from British Guyana.
If you are friends you are friends full stop, the problem being compartmentalisation.
And in a way segregation we may get along with someone but not his or hers counterparts which will be bracketed together.
This is a combination of we want to be around people that we can identify with and how people can in advertantly segregate them selfs.
As a teenager I will always remember me a white pal and mix race pal having no problems as brothers. But running into about 15 black people who asked why he was running with us.
His mother was white but shit he almost gave us up as colataral to be down.
I didn’t think bad I could see the pressure.
The morale of the story is you are who you are. Poverty now bands us together we’re all being screwed somehow, but parallel rascist shit happens.
But I will always have black friends and some of my black friends always have white friends and then on both sides you will see certain types that can’t crossover. They will pursue a cultural tendency and not want to inter socialise

I would like to clarify that this is a rant about the politically correct as a member I have so much respect for contacted me and had to check what I meant just in case.
I’m sure that he realises now what I was on about and I hope no one else had any doubts about what I meant because I love anyone but not everyone.
I’m friends with everyone as long as they are good people, one of my heroes is sir Trevor Phillips who can addresse the issues race cultural differences without issues.
My problem is the people who are unasked do gooders who patronise the people. That is irrelevant of colour, a lot of us don’t care and never did.
My friends have always been very diverse from South American Indian heritage to about every cultural ethnic or none.
I find it diversive to even identify by colour as I don’t but I have found others ( Trevor Philips has addressed this)
But have experienced rascism my self and find the politically correct thing seems to promote this stance.
The more you make rules and treat people with kid cloves the more this is promoted plus then you inadvertently segregate them.
Shit when I grew up if I like that man or woman I like them that’s the be all andend all.
The present problems come from pidgeon holing if we remember we are individuals and we are equal we should then conclude that actually the do gooders are the ones making segregateing although probably not there intent.
I apologise to anyone who may have wondered if my heart was true I promise it is.

I remember finding overgrow many years ago and using it to form a plan that materialized into a small wardrobe grow. That was a long time and many grows ago and each one has been bigger and better then the one before. I cant remember my original screen name but If i posted at all it would have been questions. The first grow I did on my own wasnt until after og had been shuttered.

We only get one more across the river but it’s still better than 0 maybe one day the Midwest will open up some west coast plant numbers I would love to see southern Illinois beans and corn fields swapped with cannabis

Illinois is only going to allow 5 plants if you have a medical card. I’m not sure of the rules but I think those 5 will be required to be in a locked room. It’s my understanding that there are only 5 companies allowed to run commercial grows in the state. It is and will be controlled by big business…this state sucks. It was a $25,000.00, non-refundable application fee if you want to be a grower …crazy.

Yeah I’m bout 15 minutes over the jb bridge we can grow 6 with our card and it has to be locked up or if outdoors I believe it has to be behind a locked privacy fence…I think it was 20k non refundable here as well maybe 10k idk…southern Illinois would be great they used to have pot in the box lol
