Got a guy in the discord chat who is growing in a 5x5 with rigid strips, scrog, pulled almost 4lbs. I’ll see if I can dig up his info.

Cliff Notes:

That’s 12 strips per driver, 25w per strip. Pretty damn efficient.

That looks good @Jellypowered

Is the viper better than the spyder

I WANTED THE SPYDER WHEN I SAW IT IN MY GROW SHOP (SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS BUT MY’PUTER ISN’T RECONIZING LETTERS IN SMALL)

they’re the same efficiency, just different designs. The Spyder is designed to operate closer to the canopy, the Vyper has to be higher up. Vyper’s beam angle is pretty wide though, it should be fine within a couple feet of the canopy.

I only have 8 foot ceilings

You recommend the strips cobs or fluence

Hey guys, I moved this conversation to its own thread. This will keep it from cluttering my workshop thread. Thanks and carry on the conversation.

I wonder is this better than fluence or cobs @Jellypowered

Subjective.

Fluence have probably the best light out there in terms of ease of assembly and performance.

Cobs have their purposes too.

If you have the knowhow, DIY can give you satisfying results…

I want to learn definitely could come in handy @Jellypowered need to watch someone build one

I have 3 more rooms to build after this

There are a lot of good builds here, just do a few searches for solstrip array, solstrips, solsheet, and you’ll learn a lot

10 x HLG 480w drivers = 4800 watts. Probably top out above 5,000 watts at 100%, given Mean Well’s conservative driver specs.
