Yeah the joke is “hey that’s a really nice thousand dollar lock right next to a window I can just kick in.”
There’s a saying:
Locks only keep out honest people.
It’s a formality at best in a way. I’ve known people that never lock their door for the mental relief from, as they put it, “feeling like I’m locking my good self in, and others good selves out”
I think both are a silly way to go about it, that’s why I rely on home alone style booby traps

I don’t think I’ve ever locked my doors, except when out of town on vacation. I live in an extremely rural area. So I guess u could say that I welcome intruders. Probably not the warm one they’re looking for though.

If my memory is correct all the lock sets Home Depot sells can be opened with 3 or 4 keys.
