There’s a place in Quebec like that…near Labrador.
Mount Taranaki National Park has an almost perfectly circular boundary. The change in vegetation is so sharply delineated that the photos from above show an incredibly neat base.

To catch the ferry to Vadez, I’ve ben in that town a couple of times. There’s only one land based route to get there. That’s through the Anton Anderson memorial tunnel. Cut through Maynard mountain, it’s the Longest (2.5 miles) dual purpose tunnel in North America. (Train/vehicle)
As you can see it’s sometime has a wet/oil slick surface. and it was a bit of a butt clenching experience riding it on my camping gear loaded motorcycle… This one way tunnel was No fun riding between the train rails.
The town was established to help repel the armed invasion by Japan… Now they charge a toll.
