looks like me trying to grow hair after shaving for 28 yearsâŚ
@calix - youâre welcome.
Cool. I just had a gravitron fit of nostalgia and did some googling. I remember as a kid barely being strong enough to push myself up off the pad when that thing really started whipping. Just found out thatâs because you are experiencing about 3 gâs which is about the same as a spaceship launch into space.
centripetal or centrifugal force? i get them mixed up.
Theyâre basically the same thing. Centrifugal force is the equal and opposite reaction to centripetal force - directed outwards rather than inwards causing the rotation. It canât exist other than relative to centripetal force.

from that explanation it would be centrifugal force, since centripetal always acts toward the center of the circle. now if i can only remember itâŚ
@Tejas âlet it all outâ either way worksâŚ
Dude that ride was so awesome.
It was called the âGravitronâ when the fair came through our town.
My brother and I rode that over and over one night and when my folks drove us home we had to lie down in our seats.
Yup, same here. The Gravitron was wild.
