Beauty. The 1911 gets a lot of hate, but it won a war, so 
Subpar metals and quality of mass production gave these things a bad rep for being poorly machined and jamming… leaving art level work like this to face the generalization.

I find the engraving really beautiful. Otherwise, I see them as tools. I don’t know shit about guns, so I’ll take your word for it production/machining were sub-par.
