I saw a show about the worlds most prolific book thief. He would sneak up elevator shafts or pretend to be an academic to get access to really rare stuff.
I don’t remember the number exactly, but 10s of millions.
He didn’t do it for the money. He never sold one. He just wanted them to put on his bookcase. They found every single one when he eventually got busted.
