Looks like a pretty hard life them old days.
This is a gift my maternal grandfather gave his sweetheart, my grandmother.
My grandmother is on the right. I believe the postcard predates this photo, but can’t be sure.
I believe it was shortly (coupla years?) after the photo was taken that they moved to N. America. They went to the Canadian province of Ontario with 11 other couples and founded a short lived commune.
