@iceman you have any experience or advice for banana trees? I took two cuttings from a buddy and planted them - theyve made it two winters keep comin back but sooooo small still. Not a lot of sunlight, I stupidly planted them in an area with a lot of canopy competition.

Is there some kinda badass tea or topdress tricks to give them a chance to really get goin? In the spring I plan on taking down a couple big trees in the general area to give them more sunlight.

I remember seeing a banana plant, quite big really, growing in the garden of a major hospital in Tokyo, Japan. So, to me, I’m sure its possible growing bananas outside the tropics.
They do need lots of sunlight for sure. That’s why the leaves are massive.
Sure you could top-dress and provide a couple of teas. Water them really well as the plant itself contains upto 75% water, just like us. :grin:
Here, for our climate, it simply thrives with minimal effort. Almost every rural household has a plant growing in their yard.
