man, that hits close to home. i used to drive a truck, half a million miles back in the day, speed limit 55 in half the country, had to run 3 logbooks to stay legal, knew a trick to remove the governor from the truck and ran up to 120mph in a company truck…anyway, it was before gps on a phone, so i had to ask directions sometimes. i would ask and if it was more than 3 things i’d just zone out and nod, then stop after 3 and ask again, all the way til i got there.
i do have an great sense of direction though and a memory for numbers. that allowed me to navigate to gettysburg from anteitam last month by knowing which way i was headed and remembering the roads that led the southern army to gettysburg. and they say knowing history has no real value these days…
