Those are running boots. They’re built like that to increase the runner’s “push off” with each step. Totally banned in Olympic boot running. Or maybe they’re for the boot high jump. I’m not sure. In any event, they’re banned in the Olympics. At least summer Olympics. I think I’m high…

I used to put axel grease on a steel pole that held a bird feeder and watch the squirrels jump on it and slide down trying to get to the feeder
Oh, I’ll bet it was so entertaining to watch the squirrels slide down! Brilliant!
