you are aware that in the us we still subsidize them and the low prices we see are artificially low, right? when i was in germany in '92 the price of gas there was about $8 a gallon while it was still about $1.50 for us, may have been about $2 - it’s been a while. i very much agree with your statement about price gouging and hate the way it is used to influence us and control us but had we had a real price on energy for the past few decades we’d have gone completely green by now.
