The age of the Dinosaurs (Mesozoic) is closer to modern times than the age where trilobites lived (Cambrian), so they have fossils more than twice as old as any dinosaur fossil.

When I was a kid we lived in South Eastern Indiana and would hunt for fossils in this wall of limestone cut out by a creek. We found lots of trilobites at one level and a bit higher up we even found a Crinoid head. I still have it stored somewhere…
