I had heard that the kiss between Shatner and Nichols wasn’t actually the first interracial kiss on American TV… turns out there were several more on Star Trek prior to that one. Apparently the first might’ve been Nichols and a white woman playing a nurse? You’d think that would’ve gotten more exposure by now?

It was interesting in the 2nd generation how much the characters represented components of the human psyche.
Worf = aggression
Data = pure logic
The counselor = emotion
Picard = wisdom
Wesley = youth and curiosity with some innocence and purity thrown in there
