No doubt about it, and y’all had plenty going on. The open garage layout looks killer, man. Looking forward to what comes out of it and our grows here of your work all the same. NB are looking and starting to smell great. Not fussy at all.
No rush at all, but looking forward to it all the same!
Lemme know if you ever have an itch to collab on some designs or something, too. You can see some of my work on my thread, to give you an idea, but I’m a street artist at heart. I’m into all kinds of mediums and the like, if a little rusty and behind on the digital side.
I have an extention cord running from a 20amp circuit up to my ceiling to run both my Mammoth lights. 6 bar runs 680w and the 8 bar 880w give or take.
I in my infinite wisdom was running an extention cord rated for 13amps not 15 like I thought. I knew I could not run full power off of it but it was a temporary solution until I could get in some 20amp rated extentions.
So I figure 80% safe working load would be1440w I had my lights running at 680w and 800w just because I could (1480w) . Little did I know I was not at a safe working load for a 13amp cord which 80% would be (1248w).
Only reason I found out was because a cable fell from a spot I had it suspended from and when I went to grab it… well it was hotter than shit and I couldn’t hang onto it.
Let my dumbass mistake be reason to check all cables and clean your areas. I’m just saying…
Pretty much brother… Just got done telling Rena I literally could have ended us all with an assumption. Especially since I run lights at night for cheaper rates (while we are all sleeping).
Switched to a fresh cable and lights are down to 600w each lol
Good find. Glad you caught it before it got bad. I run 2 short 6 foot 20 amp cords one to each light off a dedicated 30 amp circuit and outlet I added , didn’t want any issues when I was running 2-1000 watt hid’s. Lol. I constantly check cords and surge protectors along with anything else plugged in I’m using for any signs of issue.
Alway consult an electrician when in doubt. You can always ask me a master electrician with a degree in electrical engineering anytime you need help, or anyone else that wants a second opinion or help.
I know enough to keep me safe with the basics of electrial. I just assumed it was a 15amp cable I had bought lol Like I said rookie mistake. Just glad I caught my mistake.
