This where I begin to get lost… I’m way late to the game and learn every time somebody explains breeding in the real world.
Hi @Guest, can you recommend a good source of reference for understanding breeding cannabis better? As in easy to understand to the point I know when I need more detailed info to go further? lol
I’m a loooong time smoker and occasional grower, but only a few years ago moved to a legal growing state.
I communicate with lots of other growers and a few breeders and I’d love to be certain of what I do in the future with all of the seeds I’ve been gifted and bought.
I have a couple of discontinued strains that I really want to f2 and want to study this as best I can.
I understand your point above, but in hindsight, what can you do to insure you can accomplish what you’re asking?
When it comes to a complicated matter such as this, it seems short of growing the plant numerous times and understanding each pheno personally, it’s gonna be hard to get it right. Is there another approach to get you as close as possible without that past knowledge from first hand experience?
I know I can’t substitute a lifetime of growing and knowing, and all of the trial and error, failures and successes that goes into breeding, but is there a way I can still get there with any confidence?
Lots of questions that I think I may already know the answer to, but I’m just looking for practical advice to do the best I can with what I have and know when to not call something one thing when in reality it can’t really be without further knowledge…
If I don’t make much sense, smoke a lot and then try again… that’s what I’m doing… heh. Maybe it makes sense. I just want to do the best I can short of years of experience with a certain strain.
I know I can’t be a breeder without the experience, but I want to be a good steward with what I’ve been given and not claim it’s something I have no business doing so…
Damn, i must be high… I better stop…
Thanks for the learning moment, really! I’m a curious one and pot makes that stronger. heh.
