‘Twas another long day in Reapers Glass Shop.
Doors were all boxed ready to ship to Miami, and the idiots FINALLY gave me the opening size that I so badly needed. Told the GC no less than 6 times that I was building the doors for X size opening, and after they were built, said, “that’s not the paperwork we have” after asking for the paperwork for more than a week.
Needless to say, 1 day of disassembly, 2 1/2 days of cleaning parts, 2 knife blade cuts, 1 of which is DEEP, new glass has been procured, doors fabricated AGAIN, and HOPEFULLY getting shipped out the door after the final parts are installed in the rails, and panic bars installed 1st thing in the morning.

That’s one of the worst parts of being a business owner you have to deal with other people’s(customers) idiocy.

So true. Unfortunately I wasn’t involved in the hiring of the asshat that messed up every job he had his hands in, but was very instrumental in sending his ass packing, and now stuck with making things right.
I don’t play well with others on the front end, that’s why I’m in the back of the house doing what I do best, fabricating storefronts, running CNC machines, upgrading schools with the latest and greatest security hardware, and known thru the retail industry as the “door specialist”. The “fruit” computer company has flown me all over the US on their dime to do door repairs that local glaziers can’t seem to handle, and some are real simple repairs.
Hopefully with a little luck, I can get these brass cladded doors with custom panic bars finished and headed for Miami by lunchtime today!!!

A little “high end” retail done by us. 3D panels, storefront and doors. Over 350 PCs of hand mirrored dimensional panels. The small mock-up will give you a sense of what the 3D wall looks like. Hudson Yards Mall, New York.
