Glad to add to the thread! LOL
I didn’t hear any banjos in that video.
Now, you know, MoBilly stands for Missouri Hillbilly right?
I can hang with you metal heads if you don’t mind hanging out with a deep woods, bluegrass picking hillbilly.
BTW: Love the mascot!
At first I was in the dark about this confused that with WV.
But I caught on after a bit of reading…
I spent most of my life in the big city.
Many years back I bought a chunk of woods.
I was doing some clearing and gardening while listening to music like Metalica.
It did not feel right, so I moved on to some bluegrass for a better feel.
I started out with the soggy bottom boys and then graduated to some
Lester Flatt
and
Hell yeah! welcome to the island, @MoBilly !
Dig out a spot for your hut and settle in, mister! Usually I’m out on the bay throwin’ nets out and running out of drink mixers!
There’s a lot of crossover between metal and bluegrass. especially technical, structured bluegrass. It’s math magic and I love it. (The Captain prefers Reggae)
Tony Rice and his pals are definitely on the playlist at the brand new
Coconut Radio!
Upskirt day?
You have reached the island and are making an upskirt day party?
Free sundays and boobies!!!..
(Well, in spanish sounds better: Libres Domingos y Domingas!!! )
HG!
Aren’t languages fun? Welcome @SmokinJoeMGF and @MoBilly what would an island party be without some good toofless hillbilly blue grass music! I’m a huge fan of blue grass and some killer banjo and fiddle playing.
Welcome @SmokinJoeMGF and @MoBilly !
New Islanders are always welcome, even the “old” new islanders.
Welcome to the island @MoBilly and @SmokinJoeMGF. @shag we are going to have to make accommodations for all the press and A-listers that are going to want to come and visit the island now that we have a superstar @MoBilly as a resident . Gonna be party central.
Thanks for all the kind welcome comments everyone!
@shag
I totally get that. I adapt my music to the situation I am in at the moment. Driving back roads requires a good old hillbilly song like “Take Me Home, Country roads”. But when you’re driving down the interstate and running late so you might be going (slightly ) over the speed limit… well, that calls for something like “Highway Star” by Deep Purple! lol
@tresbundles
You are so right. You should check out the music of Bela Fleck. That man reinvented the banjo. He even did a crossover with a symphony orchestra that won a Grammy. He has created music with bluegrass, jazz, pop, rock and world beat artists. But when you break it down, it’s still the same mathematical basis with a different bend to it. It’s the same around the world. However, the oriental musicians use the strangest scales… so that doesn’t count.
Thanks @Piter
I don’t go for the sweet mixes. Will a pint jar of moonshine suffice?
I don’t get it… “toofless” I ain’t. Until that last one in front falls out, I just don’t get the reference.
Thank you @Cactus .
Now this remark I resemble. I won’t lie.
@Mrgreenthumb
Thank you my friend. I don’t know about my being any A-lister unless that A stands for asinine.
Glad I found my way to the Island y’all! I almost couldn’t find it because the whole island is cloaked in a cloud of smoke!!! How does anyone ever find the place!?
I leave the grass grow high… When I feel the curles in my jewels… I know that I’m in my island terruño
Ummm I don’t know if that moonshine is like the caña (orujo) or caña de herbas that is made here, but sure it makes grow chest hair .
Note:. Here the caña is make from the distillation of the remainders of the grape after doing wine.
The caña or orujo de herbas is made with the caña and some herbs that give a green coloration to it.
HG!
Hey we got us a Santa Claus this year! How many times have you suited up?
@420noob ,
Nope. I’ve been offered the job several times but never took the offer. I really don’t like crowds. Shopping is torture for me. It’s not that I am antisocial, it’s just when there’s more than five or six people around me I get to looking for somewhere else to be. Now family and folks I’ve grown to trust over the years , that’s different.
@Piter
This is how we do it around here. Just kicking back with my two brothers in this pic.
Oh lordy no I didn’t mean like for malls and screaming little entitled brats and their helicopter parents. I wouldn’t think any sane person would do that. I meant for family functions and whatnot. I feel the same way more than 5 people and you’ll find me off somewhere else.
Nope. For the family, that’s my older brother’s job.
Oh ok so y’all got grey/white hair(no offense if it’s just grey🤣) beards going gotcha. You guys the type of bros that if someone was to see you all together would be like “yep they are brothers” type of thing. Thank goodness for older siblings sometimes.
P.s. since this is a virtual island I think your stuck! You just won’t have to dress up lmao
You nailed it. lol
And yeah, my beard is almost all white. My brothers still have color to their hair. But I remind them all the time that I still have most of mine.
I say that because I was recently corrected. I said I am getting patches of white hair on my head and was told no it’s grey. I asked what’s the difference and they said about 20 years . Having all your hair is a huge bump up from going bald imo. I’d rather have a full head of shock white hair than a horse shoe of beautifully colored hair.lmao. Always good to have a nice jab you can throw in there and get them all. Ha ha
