Soil Life Discussion

So there earths soil builders ! Not a bad thing IMO not sure if I’d want it propagating in with a cannabis plant though! lol

@MomOnTheRun Wow. Well that explains all the life consuming my closet sheetrock. :unamused: Also found termites yesterday. :unamused: :unamused:

But hey, at least my VPD was correct for a few months in veg after starting in October :sweat_smile:.

You’ve almost got me scared about that little thing… outdoors it’ll be dehydrated in no time. We get below 15%RH sometimes in summer(goodbye little terpenes :violin:). I feel like it deserves it’s own terrarium with gnomes & lizards.

@Ghandisflipflop do you want a liverwort?! :laughing: (:point_up_2: :four_leaf_clover: :camera_with_flash:)

Eeeek!

Yeah, I have no idea how to battle them as they aren’t one of the bugs I have to deal with… too cold :stuck_out_tongue:

No need to be scared about it…15%rh and drying the soil will kill it once its dehydrated - its when you can’t get the rh down that it can spread by spores

It would be cool to watch and a terrarium should keep it contained

@cannabissequoia if you have termites you need to deal with them immediately my folks had them got into the wood supports lucky the floor didn’t collapse needs professional done spray and drilling around foundation and injection chemicals to kill the the bastards at least that’s how it was done 30 years ago can’t imagine it’s not much different now days

termites can actually live pretty far north - my last house had evidence of them here 1 hour north of Boston where it goes below zero every winter

The terminex commercials make it appear a lot simpler than all of that :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh they are up here like other bugs hitching rides on the cargo ships just not often seen as they really don’t take hold having freezing temps 9 months of the year…wish leaf miners and spruce beatles were like that as they are killing off acres of tree’s

oh shit I forgot you’re in Alaska :smile: probably not many termites up there!! winter is great for bugs…so many complaints about winter, but it makes life better…no brain-eating ameobas in the local ponds & lakes either :smile:

Hi, I know this thread has been dead for a year, but I have a question. Does anyone of you use Scotts fertilizer? Did it change to a better or worse side? I run into an open pack of it in my dad’s garage, so I think to use it, but not sure if it brings any positive results.

Scotts fertilizer are salt based nutrients. They tend to harm soil biology by pulling water from them thru osmotic pressure.
