@Prince , I don’t agree with abuse. But I was physically disciplined when going too far and tbh it was the only thing that felt “real” to a child.

You time me out and I’ll keep myself occupied until I can get out and do it again.
You whap my bottom after asking reasonably and I don’t response GOT the response intended by the asking reasonably.

The older I got the more I understood the rationale behind the reasonable request so the very few physical reminders never needed to happen again.

I feel for all my teacher friends; one of which had to apologize to the parents of the 8 year old child for holding a desk up in-between her and the rest of the class as she brought a knife into his class, pulled it out and threatened him and her classmates. He knows never to touch a student, so he did the only thing he could think of an create a barrier between her and the 24 other kids in the room by walking around with said desk to make sure she couldn’t stab anyone. But there he was, trying to figure out how to say politely **“I’m sorry that I was obligated to hold up a desk at your daughter as she tried to cause bodily harm to her classmates, her teacher, and possibly even herself with a deadly weapon on the publicly funded grounds of an Elementary school.”

I read a study that basically concluded with what common sense tells us- kids who were physically disciplined (not abusively) had better senses of boundaries, more self awareness, and were generally more successful than their time out counterparts.

Black cats, looks like they are forming a pentagram. Nothing good can come from this.

I can personally attest to opiates for children as being no more dangerous than any of the other drugs they can prescribe.

Technically speaking, Prednisone has caused far more actual damage to my life. Nobody mentions its effect on bone density until you break a femur.
