Lols sounds like around here. Every indoor grow is called a drug lab or Dagga Lab (Dagga is the slang word for weed here). They display bottled nutes like they are some sort of chemical used in drug making…which they kinda are but its really funny when you see it. Newspapers go on and on about these “labs” being busted.
edit read the article. They just mention “sophisticated genetic manipulation techniques” which could be anything from STS or them using tissue culture. Most likely the tissues culture stuff, that looks very fancy and high tech

Conventional breeding is faster.
Computer assisted breeding can tell you which plants will produce the progeny you’re looking for; but actual genetic modification isn’t as easy as conspiracy theories present it as.
If you can start 10,000 seeds and gene test all of your plants, tho, there’s no more guesswork in choosing parents. That’s the future. Genetic modification is overrated
