I’ve only seen Grisman live once. It was a trio called Retrograss with Mike Seeger (half brother to Pete) and John Hartford. This was near the end of Hartford’s life so he wasn’t in top form but I’m really glad I got to see him play.

That is cool. I’ve never seen Dawg live, I’ve always loved his mandolin though. Great picker. I’ve been listening to him and Jerry’s Shady Grove album, The Pizza Tapes, and Jerry Garcia/David Grisman acoustic albums for many, many years now. First found their collabs as a teen when I wasn’t much into bluegrass but enjoyed them anyway. I started my son off on their Not Just for Kids album thinking it’d be a good Segway from kids songs to bluegrass jamming but he just likes the regular adult music better. Kids got amazing taste for a 4 year old, aside from the fact that he loves the chicken dance
